Unfair

“I have a sad life story. It will make you cry.”

“Ok.”

“Not that I am telling it to make anyone cry, understand?”

“Ok. I don’t feel like crying.”

“It just feels good to talk to someone who can listen.”

“Yes, I think so.”

“Life has been unfair to me. So, so unfair.”

“To me too. And to some of my friends, too.”

“What the HELL do I care whether it’s been unfair to others or not? It’s been unfair to me! ME! Understand? What I can’t understand is why did it have to be ME? Why couldn’t it be someone else? What had ever done to anyone? I have never even thought ill of someone.”

“But you said it should happen to someone else and not to you.”

Pause.

“Are you trying to make fun of me?”

“But you said it.”

“You know what? You are a complete unsympathetic idiot. See? Thats the problem. I always meet unsympathetic idiots.”

“I’m sorry.”

“Can’t you be kind? Can’t you have some feelings for someone else’s problems? Look at you - just sitting there looking stupid and saying yes and no and sorry and criticizing me!”

“But what do you want me to say?”

“Why don’t you just come right out and say you are too wrapped up in yourself to pay attention to another human being’s problems?”

“Ok. I am too wrapped up to pay attention to another human being’s problem.”

“You are such a smartypants, aren’t you?”

“No, I am not. Everyone says I am nice!”

“You know what? You can just F*** off. I don’t need to talk to idiots like you.”

“But I am just sitting here waiting for my mother, because she’s just gone to get me some mango icecream. You came and started talking to me”

“You know what, you are gonna grow up to be a real sarcy bitch! I hope you choke on your icecream”
And with that, he got up in a huff and stomped off angrily.

The little girl sat there, puzzled, on that bench in the mall, wondering why that stranger was so angry and used so many bad words.

But soon, her thoughts turned back to the important thing in life - would her mom be able to get her that mango flavor?

deja-vu

when the year began.. first week of january, this stranger guy got off his car, accosted mine and shouted and shouted and shouted and swore so badly at me!

Little girl?

Eerie, for it is so real.

What about the agony aunts like me? Write another story Atra:)

Wrapped in their own cocoons, the butterflies know not how to fly,
and curse from their sleeping branch, each aflight passerby…. (typing the rest, thanks for inspiration)

Yes, its a very typical conversation - I thought I’ll just present it.
Glad you liked it.

hmmm... nicely wrapped up

Atra,
This reads so real. In other words, why put it under creative?
I can actually see this kind of a conversation happening quite often, maybe not between a very young kid and an adult, but this gave me a sense of deja vu… and I also read today about Baldwin’s smart ‘alec’ness in abusing his 11 years young daughter for not responding to his call…
Good read anyways…
