Basically, you can be rest assured that the metaphor (that billo pointed out) has been duly considered in the product designer’s mind, whether in the mouse or this trackbutton Product designers are pretty sex oriented in their designs, for some reason.
Don’t we all have restrictions enough to start worrying about time zones. The best calls I’ve had are the ones that’ve come at a wrong time from a traditional point of view. And the offers I value are the ones made by friends. In their own words, ” I’ll keep my phone on , and call any time you feel like. ” Many a nights, I’ve slept better for knowing that they are a phone call away. I haven’t had the need to make that call but its nice to know I could without worrying about the time.
And yeah , that rubbing thing on the laptops, If you’re on a mac like me, its called a trackpad. I can see some PCs getting one too. On the IBM thinkpads however, the mouse equivalent sits in the middle of the keyboard. Its a red nub of a thing and I’ve heard friends call it the “clit”
I hate the ‘clit’, its small, beet red and tough to navigate. Unlike the touchpad, the clit is a big pain. Now Bilbo, you are blame when you teach me these new words! Can’t wait to see my manager’s reaction who works on a thinkpad and uses this button quite well…
Yes, the world is not a vaccum..but, without human connections, it will perhaps seem that way…and hope you never feel alone- friends are only a call or mouse clicks away!(gosh! do they even call it mouse clicks, anymore? I sound ancient! I wonder what that rubbing thing on laptops are called?!)..so friends are just some rubbing away:-)
Heard about something called ‘telephone telepathy’ (ESP-when it comes to friends). But, it would be nice, if those friends also sense/have some perceptions about time zones!
