We never knew the trip will be so good when we started out. It was not supposed to be such a long one but glad it turned out to be like that.Plan was to go to Gopala Swamy Hills ( Himavad Gopala Swamy Betta ) which is around 65 Kms from Mysore and get back to town by evening. The placed is loved by all due to cool weather all round the year having covered by clouds and also the scenic surroundings. The beautiful Gopala Swamy temple not only adds brownie points but also a good place to rest and take a quick nap ! The dark clouds with Sun popping up once in a while and slight drizzle made the picture … perfect!

There my sister n B-I-L mooted the idea of going towards Ooty as it was still 3pm. We drove towards Ooty. We have to pass through Bandipur forest range to go to Ooty. We could spot some wild animals
We had snacks in Ooty, took a walk and started back after couple of hours! It seemed to be a crowded place and not so interesting ! The drive back was filled with excited moments of passing through the forest range again and stopping near wild animals ( spotting them by their dazzling eyes ) after switching off the engine and headlights!
Had a nice sleep at my place.
Next morning it was decided to visit Mahadevapura which is a scenic village on the banks of River Kaveri and famous for numerous film shootings. Kaveri is full now.

After spending couple of hours there we started towards the final destination of the trip - Shimsha Falls. Shimsha or Shivanasamudra is a place which is around 70 Kms from Mysore and is famous for its two falls - GaganaChukki and BharaChukki. Also this is where the first hydro electric power generation station was started in India with the idea of providing electricity to Kolar Gold Mines. Mysore Palace became the first electrified building in India thanks to this Project.

Why not me - so says the Monkey!
Its in BharaChukki falls where you can walk to the river. We used to swim there before but now there was too much of water
