I am amidst throes of cooking. Dinner is usually a simple 3 course affair of Daal,Rice & Sabzi. Its hot & humid outside, add to this the heat emanating from gas stove & U have perfect recipe to transform a modest kitchen into a walk-in steam/sauna room.
Rice cooker is steaming towards my right, the lid atop the cooker bobbles & threatens to fly off towards the ceiling. The Daal ,meanwhile, is coming to a simmer on one of the 3 gas burners. I fire up the second burner & put a vessel to make sabzi. Soaked in perspiration,i wait for the mustard seeds to crackle. Without any prior warning, my mind fast-forwards itself to a scenario where I imagine myself in the same scene, except that now I am married . It suddenly strikes me as to how un-appetizing it would be to have a post-dinner romp, after the energy sapping rigors of cooking (and a hard day of work in office). All of my romantic notions of a passion filled married life dissolve under the steady trickle of perspiration. With a deep sigh, I steer my mind off from such depressing scenarios & get back to the job on hand of preparing bhindi-masaala.

for IW
Maria, later that night, while hugging my favourite pillow ,I did ponder over the various solutions to this problem : “warm shower” (either done alone or with Ur partner), engaging services of maid, ordering take-aways from restaurants, prescription energy boosters like Viagara & Vaidyanaath Vitaa-X (thats kind of desi Viagara) etc etc were throughly considered.
Oh..IW,
All this..fluttering, huffing, puffing, fluffing and hugging pillows! (and planning!) Looks like someone is ‘really getting ready’:-) And don’t wait for eternity!
I do hope that you emphasize the warm showers, maid services and food take-outs to any potential Mrs.IW (and giving/sending her some chocolates in any color should send a message(!)..should be enticing too!
So funny! ‘Vitaa’ what? Even the name sounds enthusiastic and energizing!
Good luck!
Maria
I guess
at this rate u will have everything in your imagination itself right from finding the girl to having children ! If you can somehow use ur camera to photograph ur fantasises probably u wud have done that too
Just rememeber too much of day dreaming while cooking daal may burn it !
Long Innings..
>> too much of day dreaming while cooking daal may burn it !
Anantha, in my kitchen its not the Daal which gets burnt.. but I indeed burnt my fingers on 3 different occassions in last 2 weeks. I guess its something smililar to what a batsmen goes through while compiling a long innings..Sometimes the concentration wavers a bit. Whatever maybe the case, unlike you, I am atleast sweating it out in the kicthen rather than eyeing a chocolate bar in the cool comforts of bedroom .
Thanx Guyz..
Resh, Maria, Enig, Bleu, Pradz, Dr.Atraa thanx guys for your prayers, suggestions & solidarity.

I have been itching to blog for quite a while, but my life continues to be un-eventful & boring. I had options of either waiting (till eternity) for something blogworthy to happen or just jot down my normal everyday musings. This short post was the sum-total of this weeks noteworthy musings. Hopefully my restless mind would continue to be restless & that there would be regular updates to this EFORM series of blogs.

Cool off and perk up!
“imagine myself in the same scene, except that now I am married . It suddenly strikes me as to how un-appetizing it would be to have a post-dinner romp, after the energy sapping rigors of cooking (and a hard day of work in office).”
Oh, IW!
Some sweat and heat got to you…huh?!
Not to worry…if there is ‘the will’ nothing can stop two people from spicing it up and doing whatever, if “they want” it:-)
Simple remedies like taking a nice shower/bath after a long day, which includes working and cooking is all that may be needed to perk up- and what better way than to ‘relax and relieve’ together?! (may not be every day- but enough:-)
On the other hand, one can live in the most pleasant, cool home, have nothing much to do, have maids do all the cooking and serving, but the bed can be cold as an ice box, if the passions have disappeared.
Maria

IW, nice to see you posting here. but no photos?
I know photos can be happy and sad. Can they be satirical funny? I think yes.
Pati Patni aur Woh bhindi
Pati Patni aur Woh bhindi masala ki ek bharpoor vichitra dhaampatya kahani…
relax bro, you can burn that bridge once you’ve crossed it. now enjoy your meal and good night
Eating stuff again?
First anantha writes about chocolate and about the feelings of “chocolate”
Now you write about bhindi (lady’s fingers, hm?) and marriage, and something about passion.
I think I will also arise and go home to my lake isle and have a snack.
