As usual .. interesting set of frames … and interesting quote from PAtrick Henry. Loved the Rising and the Band of brothers. After a long time seeing some one actually use the depth of field feature.

Some how i felt the contrast in the photos were not good enough !

You are not alone, we share the fascination of visiting Cemeteries. I too like the tranquility offered by such places (I dunno if “like” is an appropriate word,but i guess U know what I mean). Ur words about people dying away from their homeland gave me a sense of Deja Vu coz I had echoed similar sentiments in one of my old post. Check out my reply to toc’s comment here

Whoa IW!

Now, that is some deja vu! (call it a coincidence, random echoing…whatever…the similarity in the sentiments we expressed is remarkably close!) And believe it or not (as Ripley would say!)- I paused for a few mins too..when I used the word ‘liked’, changed it to ‘I enjoy’ and wondered what was appropriate to use here!

May be some day- will have to meet in a cemetry (I mean, when we are both ALIVE, ofcourse!!)- like one of those…old movies, there is a dense ‘fog’, some haunting music playing in the background…some ghost-like white figures…cross paths?!)

Ok, let me stop!

Hello Mr.IW,

Interesting blog and pics, for someone like me, who likes to spend some time in peace and look around cemeteries (strange, but not suprising, is it?!) ..reading tombstones (every single one has a story) they are oddly fascinating experiences…as they say “the graveyards are filled with indispensable people!”..and I always wonder about how it all turned out for them-dying in far away places from loved ones..the families they left behind..

Some of the photos in your blog reminded me of Arlington National, and the Fairfax, Virginia.. Civil War cemeteries in North Carolina and Georgia.. (have been to a few military ones in India as well)..

I suppose- one can go to any country and see the Bands of Brothers..
Don’t want to make funny statements or get too political..will let it R.I.P…
