Dud Sea Scrawls The Writing, clearly, is not on the wall!

Did you notice the new member here today by name sirensong? I had no idea who she was till 10 am in the morning today. Why, even now I don’t know who it is though I quickly browsed through her blogspot site. I was actually going through some posts in CH when I saw Libran Lover saying he has shot off a mail to his new employer asking for a 3-6 months sabbatical after he went through a particular blog. Obviously I was curious to see the link he had given in the post and then I browsed through sirensong’s blogs.

When I saw the name in DSS I got thinking where I had seen that before. Quickly logged in to DSS to click on the member name to check whether he/she has given some information about him/her! I was right. I had seen that name before today. I had not only glanced through her blogs but had spent considerable time on net whole morning to chalk out a travel map for myself. I am not the kind of person who plans so much that too well in advance without even knowing whether it is possible or not. Probably I was still in the weekend trip mood and that made me browse through all the good maps I could lay hands on in net. I selected a SUV for myself - Mahindra Scorpio. Selected as in mentally for I don’t think I want go for it right now but will do so probably in next 1-2 years ( Oh well, who says one should not plan or dream !! )

Next was the route. Should I go through the west coast first and then cross central Karnataka or reverse. That can be decided later. I got a good map which shows all the National Highways running through Karnataka. Added Goa also to the list as its pretty near to the places I wanted to visit. Why only Karnataka? ‘Coz I want to visit this first before boasting that I have seen some wonderful places in the world. When there is so much to see here itself and people come from all over the world and when I can speak the local language why should I go somewhere else first? Why Scorpio? First of all its an Indian company’s SUV. Second its an SUV. Third its fun to drive and looks manly !! What if its not possible? Oh well, I always have my Alto ( with its cute slogan – Lets go )When to travel? Should be within September to January. Its when Karnataka wears a green saree and is not drenched. How long? I guess 2 weeks is good enough. Don’t think I can take leave more than that. Who all? As of now alone. If married by then, obviously with wife too. Wont plan for others now itself as its too difficult to plan for everyone. I am afraid my plans will also go waste if I do that. What all to visit? Mix of everything Karnataka has to offer – Hill Stations, Beaches ( Karwar ), Historical temples ( Hampi ofcourse ) , Forts ( Chitradurga cant be left out), Temple towns ( Udipi and Horanadu ) and last but not the least friend’s places.

I had taken a bus tour just before I joined corporate world several years back visiting most of my friend’s house mostly in western part of the state. I don’t really care whether they will be there at their places for I know their families also pretty well and finally if possible a day at my parent’s native places.

I cant believe I spent 2-3 hours looking at all the roads and maps and forming this plan. Don’t even know whether I will make it but at the same time I very well know its not all that difficult. Its pretty easy in fact if I can tell my manager well in advance about my leave plans. She would definitely and happily sanction it. Well, there are others things which might make me postpone but I can definitely make it for at least 8-9 days. Till then, let me dream about it!
