well sometimes i like smooth jazz and sometimes i like the non smooth one (however, not for more than few minutes though). of all i like old jazz and soul the best. however at this point i need to add that i am a very new entrant into this genre of music.
Music blog! Can’t miss one
btw guys, was listening to a fusion piece by Kadri Gopalnath – was awesome. Try to get hold of it (4got the album name). SSM, can I ftp it to ur site if u have one? send me the details and will prob upload music occasionally
Ssm…I am well aware of your tastes now…will write more music blogs…speciafically jazz blogs…I have already started digging thru’ my old collection and my memory, as well as ordering for new, old music..so there!!
Btw, the new elevator music is not jazz…its western classical!! I dont know whether its the greatest honour to Beethoven and others that their compositions are heard for extremely brief durations of time by people transitioning levels in a tight congested space….
no concert pics… they normally dont allow photography at such concerts…
very nice review, as usual, chay ! … you’ve set the standard for music reviews here . doubt that i have the patience to include links, but will try to do so the next time i write a review.
unfortunately (or otherwise ), my jazz tastes tend toward the “non-smooth” kind. give me something like “bird & diz” (charlie parker, dizzy gillespie *and* thelonius monk) - and i’m in heaven.
p.s. ”..Now for those of you folks who think Jazz is hotel lobby or elevator music ..” - i thought smooth jazz *was* elevator music.
sorry, couldn’t resist . but seriously, all music is divine. thanks again for the blog.
