This started as a comment to Nitz’s blog, but too big for comment, so here goes:
The worldcup ain’t just couple of years away, it’s couple of decades away. These pathetic bunch of morons would do well to even qualify for the super six or whatever.
As for Chappel miya, let’s wait and watch. Along with coach following factors need to change:
1) Change of captain – we have seen enough of dada-giri
2) Revamp of selection commitee, end of regional raj
3) Lighting fire under the comfortable a$$es of the superstars (that’s almost everyone except dravid) – deliver or ship out
4) More compititive domestic cricket (foreign players?), more pitches like Nagpur, Force seniors to play key games
5) Contracts that have a fixed and a veriable component – the latter depending on both team’s success/failures and individual’s success/failure
6) Build strong bench strength, rotation (contributes to 3)
7) Banning Mandira Bedi and Roshini
:D (well, in the larger interest of the game)
8. Banning Manjrekar from commentary, or fining him 10% of his commentary fee each time he utters the word sachin tendulkar (50% when tendulkar is not on the screen)
9) Indian public refusing to watch cricket till there is imporvement in 1 to 8.
Finally 9 is what counts. So far as idiots like me keep on watching the farce, the storyline wouldn’t change much. TRP->contract->performance. The only causal chain. Rest is just cosmetic surgery.

Point 1-A
Will just add 1 more point here… the rest of the things wud fall in place if this is taken care of..
1A > Appoint a full-time “Sports Psychiatrist”..
If therez one department where our players lack..its in “MIND”.. I think ability wise ..they are a match to anyone.
well rain or shine...
agree with what your saying, but why leave out dravid?
hee hee
if 7 is not implemented, 9 would be difficult to implement too
just realized point 9 was “Indian public refusing to watch cricket till there is imporvement in 1 to 8.” so, ahem, who would you suggest?
