Nobody read Mid-Day for news-stories. For most people (like me) Mid-Day was a paper which served your daily dose of soft porn. Just turn to page 3, and you were greeted by a fresh & sultry “Mid-Day Mate” - a hot young female in various stages of undress. There was once a phase when the mates got even hotter & went topless for couple of months. Before you wonder what the big fuss is about, let me remind you, we are talking about the 1980s & early 90s here. Topless was huge thing back then, plus I was about 15/16 years old.

“Every child is special” exhorts the tagline of TZP. When I sat down to watch TZP along with screaming and whimpering bunch of fledglings, I felt the tag line should read - “Every child is a rascal” ( “Can somebody please take them out ? I got a movie to watch & review” ) Alas! my silent pleas were met with more high pitched screeching & crying. I grudgingly shut them out of my mind & shifted my attention to the story unfolding on the screen.

I remember somebody saying, when you loan money to a friend - be prepared to lose either your money or your friendship. I paid too high a price, to find the truth behind this age old wisdom. Besides losing money & friendship, i have also lost a great amount of mental peace & many a nights of peaceful sleep.

As I wait for my food to arrive, the crowd starts building up. Four young girls walk in and look around for seats. They deliberate over the prospects of sitting in direct line of vision of a hungry & suspiciously pervy sort of guy (that would be me). I try my best to give an impression of “I am so blind… I hardly notice you” mixed with my “I wouldn’t be aroused.. even if you were to sit on my lap” kind of blank look. I basically act as if I am more interested in the menu card & the wall hangings. This act seems to work just fine coz they indeed sit right across me. Yesss!!! I utter a low cry of conquest. (mind you, this is strictly a moral victory) . Local Indian, Indian Indian, Malay, Chinese, i am quick to classify the girls on racial lines.
Outside the salon, a board announces invitingly “Light Massage Included”. Am about to be treated to one. Her hands now move down towards the base of my neck & shoulder blades. She comments about how hard my muscles are underneath & asks me if I am feeling stressed lately.

I am amidst throes of cooking. Dinner is usually a simple 3 course affair of Daal,Rice & Sabzi. Its hot & humid outside, add to this the heat emanating from gas stove & U have perfect recipe to transform a modest kitchen into a walk-in steam/sauna room.
It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace–but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish?
